Keystone at Wooster Heights Breaks Ground

Yesterday’s groundbreaking on our senior living community project was a festive occasion; turnout included Mayor Mark Boughton, members of the Greater Danbury Chamber of Commerce, and those who have already reserved their spots in the new community, as well as members of the Danbury community. The project, the first of its kind in Danbury, comprises 55 apartments those who do not require any living assistance, 63 units for those with varying assistance needs, and 22 apartments for people living with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia who require ongoing monitoring and care. The community will include a library, theater, pub, ice cream parlor, salon and activity rooms.

International Children’s Museum Proposed

The Rizzo Companies hosted a two day “charrette” for an envisioned International Children’s Museum for the greater Danbury area. The charrette brought together a group of diverse individuals in collaborative sessions to discuss, outline, and design the international children’s museum. The group broke up into small sub groups, tasked with specific questions and design problems, which then presented their ideas and solutions to the entire group for discussion. The sessions created a vision for the project, enabling the design team to take that vision and develop conceptual renderings and an organizational structure for the future.

Children’s museums provide informal learning experiences for children. Typical museums are hands-off exhibits, while the children’s museum concept features interactive exhibits designed to be manipulated by the children, stimulating creativity and exploration. The international aspect of this project will bring together the diversity within the greater Danbury area, engaging the children with other cultures and their customs.

We look forward to participating in the future and commend the development committee on their hard work and enthusiasm that we know will make their dream a reality.

Danbury High School Ribbon Cutting A Success

Today's ribbon cutting at Danbury High School went off without a hitch in the summer heat. Administrators, public officials, and members of the various agencies that helped bring the Freshman Academy and Performing Arts additions to life watched as Principal Dan Donovan cut the ribbon symbolizing a new year with new spaces at the school. Rizzo's involvement, from start to finish, has been something we are proud of; servicing our hometown of Danbury is an incredible honor.

Check out the full video of the ribbon cutting, filmed and uploaded by HattersTV, HERE.

"[The construction] did not stop the learning, it enhanced it in every way, shape, and form."

- Dr. Sal Pascarella, Superintendent of Danbury Schools
